Learn About the 2019 Charger Lineup

Continuing to top the sedan segment's performance appeal, Dodge has again revamped its five-year running large-car market sales leader, the Charger, leaving its competition further in the dust.  Upgrades featured across all levels of the 2019 model year with improvements both inside and out deliver heightened power and luxuriousness throughout the Charger lineup. Boasting cars from the fastest sedan in the world to high utility vehicles with great 30mpg fuel-efficiency for the every day, the Charger's trim models offer amazing variety that suits the family conscientious, the muscle car cruiser, the drag racing enthusiast, and practically anyone in between.  Here Lone Star DCJ covers the changes in the Charger in 2019, bringing you the latest news of the changes Dodge is featuring across this six-model lineup.

The names of the fantastic trims of the 2019 Charger remain the same, but their looks and drivability take on a whole new level.  Beginning with the base SXT and GT models, previously only rear-wheel and all-wheel drive respectively, each gain a second drivetrain.  The SXT gets an all-wheel drive configuration, and the GT a rear-wheel drive model, expanding upon the versatility these trim levels can serve Dodge customers.  The SXT offers functionality and handling with its standard electronic stability control, electric power steering, cruise control, remote start, automatic headlamps with LED accents, and three-twelve volt power outlets.  The GT's performance and aggressive look is enhanced with a full complement of race-bred chassis upgrades and features. A new performance hood design, fascia, sculpted side sills, decklid spoiler, and seats give a unique racer quality car at an accessible price.  The R/T carries over these new style choices, as well. New offerings for the 2019 year across the Charger line bring unique interior stylizing choices to consider, such as all-new Houndstooth cloth sports upholstery or Caramel Nappa leather upholstery.

The R/T Scat Pack provides the best muscle-to-dollar spending, its 392 HEMI V8 delivering 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque for less than $40,000.  Performance is fine-tuned within this trim model, and has benefitted from further tweaking in 2019. A new Line Lock aids in initial burnout of the tires to improve drag performance.  A easily accessible console switch turns on the also new Launch Assist system, which coordinates powertrain, transmission, driveline, and suspension into putting all the torque into traction and a powerful forward leap into action for constant acceleration performance.  The design cues of this great trim mirrors the SRT Hellcat model, using the same new dual-air inlet performance hood and grille combination to optimize cooling of the engine. Bilstein three-mode Adaptive Damping Suspension is available to upgrade the handling and stability of the vehicle.  The famous angry bee logo is added to the decklid and interior upholstery. Style choices include Dual Carbon racing stripes or a Satin Black-painted hood.

The 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat still leads the pack in performance and horsepower, delivering 707hp via the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8.  Four updated technologies come within this model year that further enhances the thrilling feel of the SRT Hellcat. Similar to the R/T Scat Pack, unique Lock Line and Launch Assist systems enhance the initial take off into the race, dedicating its 650 lb-ft of torque into pure responsive and immediate forward momentum.  During the run, the Torque Reserve kicks in, prefilling the supercharger and managing fuel flow with spark advance to guarantee a consistent engine rpm and torque output. At the end of the line, the After-Run Chiller creates a safe cool down after the stress of running, tending to the supercharger's heat after the engine is shut off.

The 2019 Dodge Charger creates stand outs within the sedan market and even amongst its own lineup, each trim level providing a more unique experience compared to the last.  American performance and powertrain technology gives these cars the latest and greatest in speed and torque innovations that are guaranteed to thrill.
