What Makes the 2025 Ram 1500 New?
If you want to know everything that's new about the 2025 Ram 1500, you'll have to come see it here at Lone Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. However, we'll give you a few of the highlights of the new features here! The overall shape and size of the Ram 1500 remains much the same in 2025. However, the exterior is noticeably different, with a redesigned grille, reshaped headlights, and an upgraded rear fascia. The tailgate now features the big, bold 'RAM' script across the entire lineup, which only came standard on the Rebel in the previous generation. On either side of the tailgate are reshaped taillights. At the front, the grille is enlarged and leaned slightly forward, taking up a more aggressive stance. Getting inside, you'll notice there are newly available color schemes across the lineup. These include Black Ebony real open-pore wood in the Limited, Red ombre seat trim in the Rebel, Sea Salt Gray/Bison Brown in the Laramie, and Diesel Gray for the Lone Star. While previous generations featured a five-inch touchscreen as standard equipment, the 2025 Ram 1500 comes standard with an 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen for the Tradesman, Lone Star, and Laramie trims, while the Limited comes with a 12-inch one, and the all-new Tungsten trim features a largest-in-class 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Speaking of the Tungsten trim, which is all-new for the 2025 model year, it takes the world-renowned luxury of the Limited trim to new heights with an array of premium features, including Natura Plus leather upholstery, heated, cooled, massaging, and 24-way power-adjustable front seats, a 23-speaker Klipsch audio system, and much more.Â
2025 Ram 1500 Engine Lineup
While the engine lineup for the 2025 Ram 1500 is almost all-new, it still relies on the trustworthy Pentastar 3.6L V6 that has been standard equipment for the Ram 1500 since 2011. The Pentastar engine delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, which translates to a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,100 pounds when properly equipped. That, however, is the only engine that remains in the lineup. New for the 2025 model year is Ram's all-new Hurricane engine. This new engine is a 3.0L twin-turbocharged straight-six engine available in both a standard and high-output variant. The standard-output Hurricane engine lays down an impressive 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. This makes it an impressive replacement for the outgoing 5.7L HEMI V8, which only produced 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Plus, the Hurricane offers more fuel efficiency due to its smaller displacement. Meanwhile, the high-output excites with 540 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. This comes standard with the Limited and Tungsten trim levels. Finally, the 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, technically a separate model based on the Ram 1500, is the brand's first-ever plug-in hybrid, offering an impressive 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque for a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds. All Ram 1500 models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission powering a rear-wheel drive platform. Meanwhile, four-wheel drive is optional across the lineup, while standard on the Limited and Tungsten trim levels.
How Does the 2025 Ram 1500 Keep Me Safe?
In 2025, Ram made safety more of a priority than ever before, taking the Ram 1500's safety features back to the drawing board. To keep you safe in the event of a collision, lineup seatbelt pre-tensioners, six airbags, and a high-strength steel frame to absorb impact energy better and keep it away from the cabin come standard across the lineup. However, Ram believes that the best collision is the one that is avoided. That's why the Ram 1500 offers a huge range of standard and available driver assistance technologies to help prevent a collision. Standard driver aids for the Ram 1500 include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, electronic stability control with roll mitigation, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blindspot monitoring, and a backup camera with dynamic grid lines. For even more safety, Ram offers technologies such as evasive steering assist, traffic sign recognition, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, a digital rearview mirror, parallel/perpendicular park assist, and Hands-Free Active Drive Assist. The Hands-Free Active Drive Assist system uses the active lane management and adaptive cruise control features to maintain the vehicle's speed and lane position without any driver input.
