While many out there think that the Wrangler is already perfect, in 2021, Jeep unveiled its latest creation in the Wrangler 4xe! The Wrangler 4xe is a hybrid version of the Wrangler, which takes the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and adds a battery pack along with two electric motors to produce a driving experience unlike any other. Hybrid Mode
The default mode, Hybrid, combines torque from both the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motors. This combination provides maximum horsepower, instant torque, and the best acceleration. Electric power is consumed first.

POWER THROUGH
Electric Mode
When the battery has more than a 1% charge, it can run in Electric Mode. This allows for nearly zero tailpipe emissions up to highway speeds. The vehicle can run in this mode for up to 21 miles.
ESave Mode
eSave Mode prioritizes the 2.0L engine. This saves the battery charge for later use. When power demand is low, the engine shuts off. It can also be reconfigured to increase the battery charge as well.
HOW FAR CAN YOU GO?
Regenerative Braking
This feature allows the battery to be charged when decelerating and braking. The Max Regeneration feature remaps the accelerator pedal to command more aggressive regen at low pedal positions. It allows you to slow the vehicle down without the brake pedal, but a complete stop always requires the brake pedal. It also stays selected until you turn it off.
Recharge
The battery can be fully recharged in approximately 2 hours using an available Level II charger (240-volt), or 12 hours using the included Level I charger (120-volt). With the ability to charge at home and work, you can enjoy the benefits of fully electric daily commutes.

What powers the Wrangler 4xe?
With the Wrangler 4xe, you get a spectacular plug-in hybrid that takes the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the solid eight-speed automatic transmission and adds several hybrid elements, including two electric motors and a battery pack which you can either charge at home or any charging station around the country. You will find the battery pack underneath the rear seats, and with the extra water fording, you can't get it wet. The complete setup gets you around 22-miles of all-electric range. When the battery has been depleted, the engine will immediately switch over to gasoline power without any input from the driver. The overall output for this engine is 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque and is available on all four-door versions of the Wrangler.

How good an off-road vehicle is the Wrangler 4xe?
Seeing as how the Wrangler 4xe is a Jeep vehicle, you know it's good off-road! There are several terrific things about the Wrangler 4xe, including that you don't have to build up a lot of RPM to get the wheels to spin. The Wrangler 4xe can also go over anything, including several bodies of water due to its 30 inches of water fording. The air intake is placed snuggly underneath the hood, so you won't be able to get it wet if you happen to drive over a stream or creek. In addition to all of this, the Wrangler 4xe comes with several advanced off-road features thanks to the Rubicon 4xe trim. It has a 4x4 powertrain, a Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, and next-generation Dana 44 solid front and rear axles. You can also get a Rock-Trac 4x4 system, a two-speed transfer case with a 4:1 low-range gear ratio, Tru-Lok electric front and rear locking differentials, and 33-inch all-terrain tires. There is nowhere the Wrangler 4xe can't go!
