2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Revealed

Brought to you by Lone Star CDJR

Dodge is known as the house of horsepower and for a good reason. The brand keeps pumping out muscle cars with outrageous horsepower numbers like the limited-run Challenger Demon. Following in the skid marks of its predecessors is the all-new 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The demon-possessed Charger is cranking out 797 horsepower to make it the world's fastest mass-produced sedan. To learn more about the tremendously high horsepower Dode Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye you're going to want to keep reading down below.

What can you tell me about performance?

As we stated above, the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is making 797 horsepower.  That mighty horsepower number is thanks to a supercharged Hemi high-output engine that also makes 707 lb-ft of torque.  The performance of the SRT Hellcat Redeye was also improved by the standard award-winning SRT Power Chiller that lowers the intake air temperature. If you're looking to take the Hellcat Redeye down the quarter-mile, you can do so in an elapsed time of 10.6 seconds, and you'll cross the finish line at 129 mph. Dodge went ahead and raced the SRT Hellcat Redeye, and the SRT Hellcat on a 2.1-mile road course, and the results were the SRT Hellcat Redeye outpaced the SRT Hellcat by seven car lengths after a single lap. The Dodge SRT Hellcat also saw an increase in performance numbers this model year from 707 horsepower to 717 horsepower.

What makes the SRT Hellcat Redeye different from the SRT Hellcat?

There are several key differences between the two models, and the first is the fact that the SRT Hellcat Redeye uses a 2.7-liter supercharger, which makes it the largest factory supercharger of any production car versus the 2.4-liter supercharger that is in the SRT Hellcat. The Hellcat Redeye also increased boost pressure from 11.6 psi to 14.5 psi. The Hellcat Redeye uses a larger induction air box and has three sources of intake air, so the engine stays cool and continues to perform at peak leaves. The three sources of intake air include the airbox opening near the wheel liner, the mail-slot grille opening, and the newly designed functional performance hood. The Hellcat Redeye also received several features from the Challenger SRT Demon, including the SRT Power Chiller, After-Run Chiller, Torque Reserve, high-strength steel prop shafts, and 41-spline half-shafts that provide a 20 percent increase in torque capacity.

Can you tell me more about the performance features?

Sure thing! The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye comes ready to drag race from the factory with a variety of performance features. Line Lock feature will hold the Hellcat Redeye stationary so you can do a flawless burnout, so your tires are cleaned, heated up, and ready to race. When you get to the line, you can engage Launch Control, which holds the engine at optimal launch rpm and waits for you to take your foot off the brake. Helping ensure your launch is perfect is Launch Assist. This feature helps prevent wheel hop by reducing torque to increase traction if hop is detected. The standard SRT Performance Pages that can be found when you use your touchscreen infotainment system include a g-force heat map, a real-time dyno graph, and other performance data so you can instantly know how your SRT Hellcat Redeye is doing.
