2019 Jeep Cherokee vs 2019 Toyota RAV4 near Atascosa, TX

When you're searching for your next vehicle, it can be difficult to get a handle on all of the options that are out there. The small SUV segment, in particular, is very saturated, which can make it hard to find the perfect one. We are here to help narrow down the options in the name of finding you the perfect fit. The first SUV we're checking out is the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, which has a freshened-up look in 2019, along with a new engine option, an upgraded infotainment system, and everything else that people have loved about it in years past. The other SUV is the 2019 Toyota RAV4. This option is completely redesigned in 2019, and offers abundant passenger space, a quiet ride, and easy-to-use controls. To figure out which one you should be buying, continue reading down below!

2019 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

Thanks to the additional engine offered with the 2019 model, there are now three engines to choose from with the Cherokee. The first engine we're looking at is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, which can get you 180 hp and 171 pound-feet of torque. Both FWD and AWD are available through the engine lineup. The fuel economy varies, although you'll most likely get around 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. The next engine is a 3.2-liter V6, which generates 239 lb-ft of torque and 271 hp. Fuel efficiency with this engine is around 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. Last, but not least, is the all-new turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. This engine can pump out 295 pound-feet of torque and 270 horsepower. All of these engines work with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

There is only one engine that you can find with the 2019 RAV4. This engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. The power that you can expect to get varies, although you can get up to 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. There are two drivetrains you can choose from. The standard drivetrain is front-wheel drive, although you can opt for all-wheel drive if you find that to be better for your lifestyle and driving needs. Hooked up to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission. As you can tell, there is a real lack of engine options with the RAV4. The Cherokee simply blows this SUV out of the water.
